Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22:
Thursday, July 24-Tuesday, July 28th
- We’re going to go back to the Interview Project while it’s still fresh in our minds. First, I want you all to assess how helpful the A Good Interview document is. Since this is a document you should each be able to go to to see what a good interview is like, I'd like you to pretend that you are writing an interview and you go to this page to get an idea of a good interview--how successful is it in helping you, in a short time, figure out what a good interview is? I know that you all learned a lot since most of your interviews were successful, but let’s treat this document as a project in and of itself.
- Next, as a class, use this forum to come up with a plan on how to improve this document.
- When you're ready, create an improved document with the same purpose. Instead of giving yourself credit on the page, write a log of what you did on this work log (examples of how to log your work are on the page).
- This will be a good exercise in editing something as a group. Although it important that the final product be solid, it it more important to go through the process of trying to make it better as a group--I’m assuming this is the first time many of you have done something like this, so do your best and don’t worry if it’s not perfect. It very likely will be a difficult process! You have until Tuesday at midnight to finish this.
- Blog Post #13 about how revising the Good Interview document went. If you had to revise the document again (don’t worry, you don’t!), what would you do differently? This can be a short blog post! I just want you to think it over (maybe vent a little:) this might be a tough assignment to navigate) so you’re ready to move on and apply what you’ve learned to the peer review.
- Read Publication Project Prompt and use Blog Post #14 to share a project proposal for what you want to focus on (this can change)
- Use this forum to get into four working groups. You will use these groups to work on your project and to do Peer Review in these groups.
Thursday, July 24-Tuesday, July 28th
- Blog Post #15: Free Post
- You have the rest of this time to draft and use each other for peer review. The only thing you must do is, by Thursday at midnight, one person in your group must email me a plan you all have come up with to get in at least two peer reviews by the time you turn your project in on Tuesday night. These can be two people peer reviewing your draft, one person peer reviewing two separate drafts, one person peer reviewing an outline and another your draft.
- I'll post another calendar next week, but this is all you have to work on until then. You have a lot to do, so use your time wisely. And let me know if you have any questions!
